The member of parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency who doubles as the deputy minister of education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, has admonished queen mothers in her constituency to lead the campaign to fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
The honourable member of parliament made this statement when she met with the queen mothers in her constituency on the 10th of May 2020 for mothers' day celebrations.
"You are the figure heads and mothers of your various communities. Be the ambassadors for the fight against COVID-19 to help curb the spread". Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo advised.
Honourable Gifty Twum-Ampofo gave the queen mothers hampers for the celebrations and also added face masks to be shared to people in their various communities to help fight COVID 19. She added that all protocols for COVID 19 fight should be observed.
On behalf of the queen mothers, Nana Aframoah Afri I, queen mother of Akyem Tafo, thanked the honourable member of parliament for her submission and said, the fight against the pandemic has been taken up by them(queen mothers) but they seek logistical support from government to facilitate the process.
